Weekend Get Away. We took the kids this weekend on a surprise get away to French Lick. We stayed at Splash Adventure and did the Polar Express Ride.

We bought the kids new PJ"s for the Polar Express trip and wrapped them. They got to open them at the hotel. They were so excited to open a present early.
It was sooo cold waiting in the long line for the train. But it was so worth it.

Tickets Please! The kids were amazed as the conductor punched their tickets just like the conductor did on the movie.

I'm loving this!
Hot Chocolate! The elves even danced as they passed out our hot chocolate.

We can't wait to see Santa.
They each received a bell from Santa. They loved meeting Santa.

This was a wonderful trip, but...
it has been a very long day.

Time for some water adventures!
Nathan absolutely loves playing in the water.
Hanging out in the lazy river. What a fun time we had just relaxing and enjoying some family time.

Catching up!

The boys had a tea party while Liv did school. Josh is quite the host.

Never throw away broken appliances!  I gave them a broken printer and some screw drivers one afternoon and it kept them busy all afternoon. They had so much fun taking it apart and figuring out what each piece did.

The three stooges. They got these hillbilly teeth from Will's party. Liv and Josh had dentist appointments the next morning. So Olivia stuck hers in her pocket and when the hygienist told her to open she had them in her mouth. I could here the laughs from the waiting room. I think it made their day.

Growing up. I had the sewing machine out the other day and I taught Olivia how to sew a straight line. She is growing up way to fast.

All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth!! We lost another one today. Now we can't say our s sound.

Snow time! They have been wanting to play in the snow the last couple of days, but it has been way to cold. So we brought the snow inside to make little snowmen.

To Liv, Josh and Nate

I heard these words during a  song this morning and they touched my heart as a mother to the three of  you. If I could teach you one thing for the rest of your lives it would be these words I heard. I love you three so much.

Be strong in the Lord and,
Never give up hope,
You're going to do great things,
I already know,
God's got His hand on you so,
Don't live life in fear,
Forgive and forget,
But don't forget why you're here,
Take your time and pray,
Thank God for each day,
His love will find a way,

Piggy Bank Nate

Nathan swallowed a penny Sunday afternoon. Monday he was not eating and had a fever. So we called St. Joe and they had us bring him for an x ray. Thankfully it was not obstructing anything. Just hanging out in his stomach as you can see it in his x ray. They fever was a side affect from the flu mist he had last week.

This morning he finally paid me for changing his diapers. One lost penny found! I always knew he would be the first boy to visit the ER.

Too dark..

I absolutely hate it getting dark so early.. I loved being able to send the kids outside after supper for some play time. Last night it was so nice out so Jeff made a fire and  turned all of the back lights on so they could still play.  I all ready miss summer and dreading winters long cold days. Pray for my sanity!!

The boys in their much needed new bunk bed.

Olivia thinks she needs to sleep with them tonight. I have a feeling they will all be trying to sleep on the top.

Game time

I was cleaning out the closet the other day and game across some of Jeff's old games he had when he was a kid. Since then Jeff and Olivia have been obsessed with playing Life. It's actually nice to be playing some games that are challenging to mom and dad.

Pumpkin Time

Getting  our pumpkins cleaned out to make Jack-O-Lanterns.

Eating the roasted seeds. Josh likes them!!!!

Spooky!!

Leaf pile

She jumped into it with all her might. I felt so sorry for her. She is just dying to have leaves cover all of her. Maybe by the time she's 20 there will be enough for her.

Playing in the leaves

Olivia is wanting to jump in a leaf pile so badly. She raked what little leaves we had and then.....

School Day

Olivia is working on creating a world out of paper mache so she can later see the layers of the earth. It was a very messy project. When we finished I cleaned up and came back to discover Nathan  exploring with it. He had rolled it across the floor and sitting on the couch with it. So we (I should say I) had to do some touching up on it. I was very thankful for laminate flooring as I was cleaning up. Oh, the joys of homeschooling.
