Chicago

Yesterday we went to Chicago with family to visit the American Girl store for Molly and Emily's birthdays. Here's Olivia standing outside of the store front window. We had a great time making wonderful memories.

Olivia standing with Kanani, doll of the year.

Standing in front of the Kit display. Too many choices!

Lunch time! Felicity even got a high chair.

The gang enjoying some girl time.

Would you like some tea Felicity?

There was so much to see and do. Olivia can't wait to go back. Maybe this summer.

"The Hero in the Night"
Jeff and I have been praying this week for Officer Moore that was shot Sunday. Our hearts go out to his parents and pray for peace for them.
Please keep all police officers in your prayers as they daily stand in the gap for us.
Next time a cop stops you because you are driving too fast,
Remember he saved you from that day being your last.
When you think he’s picking on someone,
Why not think of what they could have done?
Next time you call him a name,
Would he have called you the same?
How would you feel to see a child beaten black and blue?
And knowing there is not much you can really do.
You can arrest them and hope they stay in jail,
But, too many times it doesn’t work that well.
To see the face of someone right before they die,
When he can’t but all he wants to do is cry.
To break up a fight, knowing later it will be worse,
And from his help, all that came was him being cursed.
To know that people don’t respect what he chose to do,
But day after day, he’s out there to protect people like you.
To see drugs sold to a child younger than his own,
Makes his heart ache and long for his home.
The job has no glamour, doesn’t even pay well,
He does it because he cares for more than himself.
He cares for you and he cares for me,
He’s out there hoping we will all see.
He took a path not many would take,
And he chose it for our sake.
He’s a remarkable soul, a Hero in the Night,
When all is well, he’s not in sight.
But, if you ever need him, he’ll be right there,
Not just because he’s a cop but because he cares.

Night on the town!

Last night we headed to Indy for a night on the town. Grammy and Allen got the kids tickets to see Toy Story on Ice for Christmas. I think it was the best Disney on Ice show we have seen yet. We were only nine rows back so they really enjoyed seeing all the characters up close. Thanks Grammy and Allen!!

Olivia's favorite part, Barbie and Ken.

Josh's favorite character Buzz.

Nate loved seeing Woody.
Of course we can't go downtown without hitting Bucas for dinner. Pizza anyone?

Think summer!

Today they all had the summer itch bug and decided to put on their swimsuits to sunbath in the sunroom. Of course you can't go to the beach without playing in the water. So they all went into my bathtub and made some waves. We can't wait to go to the beach! Hurry up summer!!!

After our pretend trip to the beach it was time for pajamas and dinner. Nate and Olivia did a great job putting the toppings on the pizza.

Let it snow!

Snow Day!! We were lucky to have daddy off these last couple of days to enjoy the snow with us. This morning after breakfast he made the executive decision that today is a snow day and the Packard school was closed for today. He got the Mule out and tied the sled on the back for rides around the house. It was soooo cold (notice the runny noses) but the kids had a blast. Tonight we are going to make homemade popcorn and have a  family movie night. Back to the grind tomorrow.

Museum Trip

We took the kids to the Children's Museum today. We wanted to get them there before they took the slide down. We went after lunch so it wasn't very busy. They all had their favorite thing they wanted to do so this was the perfect time to go.
